He is SO good!

I just had to do a quick post about how AWESOME the Lord is. This past week it's just been amazing to see the little ways that God moves in our lives. Lifestream was amazing as usual and the worship experience I've had the last few weeks has been phenomenal, just constantly becoming more intimate with the Lord and realizing more of His truths.

Yesterday I got the opportunity to meet with a fellow Chi Omega, Kristin Bernard, and it was such an amazing little meeting! We both talked about how our mission trips this past summer affected our lives and how we both have been realizing just how powerful and real spiritual warfare is. Thats something that I never really understood until I read Beth Moore's book, "When Godly People Do Ungodly Things." It's so real and powerful to acknowledge when you are feeling fear, discouragement, and negativity that those things are from the enemy and the only way to conquer them is to give them to the Lord and to pray about them intensely. I pray daily for the people in this country and all over the globe that don't know Jesus and don't have the ammunition we have in those situations. I am so thankful to have older girls in my life that can share their stories about their walk with God and encourage me in mine. Needless to say I left that meeting inspired to be the same positive influence in my friends lives.

I also had an amazing chat with my roomie about life last night and we had very good intentions of going to bed at a decent hour, that definitely did not happen! I love Lauren and how we both seem to be on the same page about so many things in our life! The only downside to our friendship is we both have a knack for putting off shopping for some really good causes such as shopping, movies, and TEA cafe. Next year in Nursing school we are definitely going to have to buckle down!

Perfect Fall Weekend

I had the luxury the past weekend to bask in many of my fall favorites all in a span of two days. My fall favorites include: Football, Family, Friends, Rain, and Scary Movies! On Friday I rode home from Norman to Sallisaw with my cousin Audra. We got to have a nice chat as well as visit her family when we got into town. That night I watched my baby sister cheer at the same field I cheered at all four years of high school as well as see the kids I babysit/love. Saturday morning at 9am, which is ridiculously early for youth league games, I watched my 8 year old sister cheer and dance her team on to...well.....a good attempt at winning! I rode to that game with my stepmom and my dad told us he would meet us there because Tori had to be there so early. We were anxiously waiting for dad because we were afraid he would miss Tori's halftime routine. Finally my dad arrives, and my sister Gracen (10 years old) says "Oh my goodness there's Daddy, and he has overalls on!" I wasn't really surprised by my dad showing up in overalls, not because he's a farmer, but because he loves any opportunity he can take to try to embarrass his girls. It was hilarious. The best part was when Gracen added some optimism to the mix and said, "Well, at least he has a shirt on underneath them." =] Here are some pics from my awesome weekend!

Eye Opener

Today I experienced so much spiritual growth that I have to share it with the WORLD! Everyone needs a little background on my life before I start though. I grew up in a small town in OK, and went to a typical southern baptist church. That being said our worship on Sunday mornings usually consisted of hymnals and a piano, none of this crazy rock band worship. Since I came to college I have really grown to love the rock band style of worship. I love how freeing the loud drums and guitars are, I love how with the lights down you can fully engage in honoring the most High King. Today I experienced a new type of worship. I had a really rough night last night, my confidence was shaken, I was being attacked by the enemy with lies only the enemy could have been feeding my mind. I began intensely praying and listening to the oh so awesome Hillsong United. I wish I could explain the peace that I felt from this experience. I have been trying for the last year to really give my worries to Christ, to let him take the burden because that is what he came to the earth to do. I do not think until last night I really had ever fully given my worries completely to him. I woke up this morning with a peace I can't describe, and a confidence in myself and my faith that I have never known before. My prayers today were full of thanksgiving and amazement at the new side of Christ that had been revealed to me. I read a verse during my quiet time today that really opened my eyes to exactly what happened to me last night while I was praying with all my might.

"But he said to me, ' My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christs power may rest on me. That is why for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses , in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak then I am strong. " 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
